Volunteering
Your Time Can Change a Family’s Future
When you volunteer with New Reach, you bring compassion, energy, and stability to women, children, and families working to overcome housing and food insecurity. Whether you’re helping in our shelters, supporting our housing programs, delivering food through FISH, or lending skills behind the scenes, your service meets real needs in our community.
Ways You Can Volunteer
We offer meaningful volunteer opportunities for:
Individuals
Families
Corporate groups
Student clubs and service organizations
Faith communities
Volunteer roles may include:
-
Help prepare and deliver groceries to those unable to access traditional food pantries.
-
Our volunteers make a real difference by providing meals for our shelter guests—and those meals are deeply appreciated. You can cook and serve a meal onsite or prepare/purchase food offsite and drop it off. We’re happy to share tips and menu ideas to make it easy.
-
Do you have a special skill that you would like to share? Contact us to learn more how you can lead a workshop or setup a one-on-one activity on things like reading comprehension, budgeting, stress management, cooking, and more. This opportunity does require a background check.
-
When individuals and families move from homelessness into housing, simple household items help turn an empty apartment into a true home.
-
Shelter support projects help keep our spaces safe, welcoming, and comfortable for the families we serve. Volunteers assist with tasks like landscaping and beautification, painting and light maintenance, and organizing and sorting donations—hands-on efforts that make an immediate, meaningful impact.
-
Administrative and event support volunteers help New Reach operate smoothly and create meaningful experiences for our community. Tasks may include office projects, data entry, preparing materials, assisting at fundraising events, or supporting outreach activities—important behind-the-scenes work that strengthens our mission every day.
-
Hosting a drive is a powerful way to engage your community and support families in need. Whether you’re collecting toiletries, cleaning supplies, holiday gifts, or pantry staples, your efforts help ensure our shelters and programs are stocked with the essentials families rely on every day. Organize a drive at your workplace, school, or faith community and make a meaningful impact together.
We match your interests, skills, and availability with our most pressing needs.
